A nostalgic snack reinvented with almond butter and three fresh topping variations, perfect for a quick, healthy, and playful bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large celery stalks, washed and cut into 4-inch pieces
  • 1 cup (250 g) almond butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 6 teaspoons raisins (classic ants)
  • 3648 fresh blueberries (68 per celery stick)
  • ½ cup (60 g) chopped walnuts, toasted (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • Honey (optional, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Wash and prep celery: rinse 6 large celery stalks under cold water, pat dry, and cut into approximately 4-inch pieces.
  2. Toast walnuts (optional): heat a small skillet over medium heat, add ½ cup chopped walnuts, and toast for 3-4 minutes until fragrant and lightly browned. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. Prepare almond butter: scoop about 1 cup of almond butter into a small bowl. If too thick, stir in a teaspoon of water or honey to loosen for easier spreading.
  4. Make the first version – classic: spread 1 tablespoon almond butter along the groove of each celery stick. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of raisins evenly across the top, gently pressing them into the almond butter.
  5. Make the second version – fresh berry: spread almond butter on 6 celery sticks. Arrange fresh blueberries (about 6-8 per stick) on top instead of raisins.
  6. Make the third version – nutty crunch: spread almond butter on the remaining celery sticks. Sprinkle toasted walnuts and chia seeds over the top. Add a light drizzle of honey if desired.
  7. Arrange all three versions on a platter and serve immediately for maximum crunch and freshness.

Notes

Use crisp celery that snaps cleanly for best texture. Warm almond butter slightly if too stiff for easier spreading. Toast nuts carefully to avoid burning. Assemble toppings just before serving to keep celery crisp. For nut allergies, substitute almond butter with sunflower or seed butters and avoid nut toppings.
