A quick and easy homemade snack box featuring pepperoni, cheddar cheese, and crackers, perfect for kids and customizable for various dietary needs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1520 pepperoni slices (classic spicy or mild)
  • 4 ounces (115 grams) cheddar cheese, sliced or cubed
  • 2025 crackers (buttery round, whole wheat, or gluten-free)
  • Baby carrots or cucumber slices (optional)
  • Grapes or apple slices (optional)
  • Mini pretzels (optional)
  • Small container of hummus or ranch dip (optional)
  • Olives or pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace: Gather all ingredients and equipment. Check pepperoni and cheese for freshness.
  2. Slice the cheddar cheese into bite-sized squares or thin slices about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. Arrange 15-20 pepperoni slices on a plate; cut large slices in half if needed.
  4. Count and place 20-25 crackers in a section of your lunch container, keeping them dry and separate from moist items.
  5. Wash and slice baby carrots, cucumber, grapes, or apples if using. Toss apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning.
  6. Portion dips or pickles into small containers or silicone cups and place them in the box.
  7. Assemble the snack box by placing cheese, pepperoni, crackers, and any extras neatly in separate compartments.
  8. Seal the lunchbox tightly and store in the refrigerator until ready to eat. Add an ice pack if packing for school or outings.

Notes

[‘Let cheddar cheese sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before slicing for easier cutting.’, ‘Keep crackers separate from moist ingredients to avoid sogginess; wrapping crackers in a paper towel inside the box helps.’, ‘Do not overstuff the container to prevent crushed crackers and squished cheese.’, ‘Add a small note or sticker inside the box to make snack time special for kids.’, ‘Store snack boxes in the fridge and add an ice pack if taking on the go.’, ‘Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days; keep crackers separate if reassembling later.’]
